A Style One's Own
We start out with good intentions
Though we begin as types
If we're lucky we evolve
To an archetype
We learn from the pros then imitate them
For imitation is the highest form of flattery
Except when it's overdone
"Be yourself,
everyone else is already taken"
And that's where trial and error come along
And error
And more error
And more error
Which might be a lucky mistake
That sets us apart
From the copycatting masses
The casual Fridays
The black tie faux pas
The aberrations of occasion
A dwindling formality is ours
To fight against
We revolt!
The pen is mightier than the sword
But the suit is mightier than the pen
When you wear it
Your own way
